Ergotech Triple Horizontal LCD Monitor Arm Desk Stand

It has been said that using multiple monitors at work increases productivity. This actually makes sense, since having multiple monitors means you will be capable of opening a number of websites and run multiple programs at the same time. With that kind of multi-tasking, it is but natural for productivity to rise.

Using multiple monitors, however, presents one major problem: desk space. Even when the monitors in question are LCD or LED monitors, it still does not change the fact that three monitors are going to occupy more space than just one. Even with the computer-centric jobs that they do, they are still going to need some desk real estate to do some other tasks, paperwork included. Thankfully, some creative people came up with idea for a multi-monitor stand, and the rest, as the cliché goes, is history.

Of all the brands of multi-monitor stands out there, I chose to buy an Ergotech Triple Horizontal LCD Monitor Arm Desk Stand and was quite happy with it. Designed to support all three of my LED monitors, this stand is capable of supporting up 25 pounds each. It can be easily and quickly set up, which is a plus for people like me who may never get the hang of installing and assembling stuff. Aside from this, the stand can be tweaked according to your preferences. Sure, there is not much you can do about the individual height of the monitors because they are fixed, but you can adjust the angle of monitors individually. This is probably the feature that I like best about this particular stand. If you’re a neat freak, then you will love this stand. It has a cable management system that somehow keeps its cables from view, allowing for a very neat appearance.

The stand is also very solidly constructed, which mean it is going to last a very long time. The fact that it did not tilt or keel over when I first mounted the right and center monitors only is a testament to how stable and solid the construction is. There is, however, a side effect to this very solid piece of work: it can be really heavy. The base is also rather wide for a stand that is supposed to save a ton of desk space. Then again, the base is so much smaller compared to the combined three bases of the monitor you will be hanging up on it.

This stand is perfect for writers, designers, accountants and other people who have seen the benefits of working using more than just one monitor.
